Ginetta G4 Land Speed Record Attempt
Welcome to 122mph.com, our website that describes our attempt to break two modern day land speed records with our classic 1967 Ginetta G4 at Speed Week 2008. The current record in our class stands at 121.779 mph which effectively means we have to go 122 mph to break it - hence the name: 122mph.com
On our pages you will find information about the Ginetta G4 and the 1965 Cosworth MAE engine we are using, as well as some background information on the Bonneville Salt Flats and the Land Speed Trials ‘Speed Week’, ‘World of Speed’ and the ‘World Finals’.
Please have a look at the links to some websites of interest and from people that are helping us.
You will also be able to track our progress in the Build Blog, which we will try to update as frequently as possible.
In the future we hope to have some merchandise - bear with us on that one though as our priority is currently to get the car ready!
Feel free to drop us a line - we’d love to know what you think.
Be sure to check back regularly to follow our progress!
